Insurance Ireland PwC CFO Forum

Date: Thursday, 25th November, 2021

Time: 11:00am – 12.00pm

Place: Virtual via Zoom meetings

Overview

With UN COP26 front of mind, the insurance sector is stepping up on climate action and is now devoting significant attention to ESG reporting requirements. There is a real and pressing demand from regulators, activists, investors and consumers for reliable and robust reporting from insurance companies about their contribution to solving the climate crisis.  The responsibility for delivery of this reporting will fall to the finance function and the CFO.

Irish insurers have already needed to deliver ESG reporting requirements, mainly under  the Non-Financial Reporting Directive, but the horizon is filled with further, mandatory, requirements (EU Taxonomy, CSRD) and a slew of voluntary ones.  The timeframe for delivery is very short.

Join us for an insurance focused discussion on:

  • An overview of the current ESG reporting landscape and the requirements that are on the horizon for the Irish insurance sector, and
  • A discussion, based on our experience in Europe, on some of the practical challenges that Irish insurers will face as they develop the data, analytical, and reporting processes to produce the information needed.
