Overview 

Insurance Ireland and Milliman look forward to welcoming you to our first CRO forum of 2023.

We are pleased to announce that Domhnall Cullinan, Director of Insurance Supervision, Central Bank of Ireland will join us on the 18th of April to give us some insight into the Central Bank of Ireland’s regulatory priorities for the coming year.

Domhnall will then be joined by Eoin Harte, Head of Life Risks, SCOR Group and Marie Louise Delahunty, Chief Risk Officer, Zurich Insurance PLC for a panel discussion to discuss the Central Bank’s priorities and other areas of focus for CROs.

Speakers 

Eoin King, Principal, Milliman

Eoin in a principal in Milliman’s Dublin practice. He has more than 15 years of industry experience. During that time, he has worked with a number of different domestic and cross-border insurance companies on a wide range of projects. Eoin’s expertise covers topics such as Solvency II, IFRS reporting, product development, enterprise risk management, mergers and acquisitions, internal model development, and capital management. 

Eoin currently serves as the Head of Actuarial Function for several clients. He is a member of the Life Reinsurance and Innovation Committee of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. 

 

Sinead Clarke, Principal, Milliman 

Sinéad is a principal in Milliman’s Dublin office. She joined the company in 2006. Sinéad currently leads the Risk and Capital Management team in Milliman Dublin. Sinead has over 15 years’ experience working with a wide variety of clients, including life, health and non-life insurers. 

She is an expert on the Solvency II requirements for the risk and actuarial functions. She discharges the outsourced Head of Actuarial Function role for an International Private Medical Insurer based in Dublin. She is an active member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and currently sits on the Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Healthcare Committee.

  

Domhnall CullinanDirector of Insurance Supervision, Central Bank of Ireland

 

Domhnall joined the Central Bank in 2003 and worked in various roles including Head of General Insurance Supervision and Head of the Anti-Money Laundering Division. In September 2019, Domhnall was appointed as Director of Insurance Supervision and is responsible for overseeing the supervision of 200 life, non-life and reinsurance firms. Domhnall sits on the Board of Supervisors of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) and the Steering Committee of the EU-US Insurance Dialogue Project. 

  

Eoin Harte, Head of Life Risks, SCOR Group

 

Eoin Harte is Head of Life Risks for the SCOR Group and has been CRO in SCOR Ireland since 2016. He worked as a valuation actuary in Irish Life between 2003 and 2008 before joining SCOR (formerly Transamerica Ireland) in 2008 and worked in a variety of positions including Head of Actuarial. Eoin is a qualified actuary, completing the BAFS degree in UCD in 2003.

  

Marie Louise Delahunty, Chief Risk Officer, Zurich Insurance PLC

 

Marie Louise Delahunty is the Chief Risk Officer for Zurich Insurance plc. She is a qualified chartered accountant. After 10 years with PwC she joined the Central Bank of Ireland for 8 years and was the Head of Insurance Supervision. She joined Zurich Life Assurance in 2019 and spent 3 years as the Chief Risk Officer before moving to Zurich Insurance plc in September 2022. She is the Treasurer of the Adelaide Health Foundation and is married with 3 children.
