The topics for this session are as follows:
Ø Perspectives on the interaction of the Risk Management and Actuarial Functions
Ø Open Forum – Opportunity to discuss your questions

At our last CRO forum, Sylvia Cronin, Director of Insurance Supervision in the Central Bank of Ireland, stated that the CRO’s relationship with the Head of Actuarial Function (HoAF) “should develop into a natural partnership”.

A number of speakers will share their views on how these two functions should work together to create this partnership.  We will hear from:

·         Billy Galavan, CRO with Zurich Life

·         Darren Egan, CRO & HoAF with Allianz Re

·         Dermot Mannion, HoAF with AXA Life Europe

This session will focus on some of the practical arrangements for addressing the explicit risk management related responsibilities that have been given to the HoAF, in particular with respect to the ORSA, and will present different ideas on how to address the issues.

After the conclusion of this session, and in line with our usual format, we intend to dedicate some time to discuss topics that any of the CROs present may wish to raise and discuss. This is intended to ensure that CROs have the opportunity to raise developing issues where some quick feedback from peers would be welcomed.  We invite CROs to submit topics in advance of the meeting.  However, please feel free to simply raise them on the day of the meeting itself.

The CRO Forum is designed to be a high-level discussion group exclusively formed and attended by Chief Risk Officers of Insurance Ireland Member and Associate Member companies. The purpose of the series is to engender debate and discussion, facilitating peer learning, network building and the sharing of experience and knowledge in this community.

The nature of future events falling under this series will be informed by your inputs and feedback, to ensure the series continually delivers value to the network it is designed to engage.

To register please email ann.oleary@insuranceireland.eu before Friday, 3rd June
