Overview: With diversity and inclusion (D&I) becoming an increasingly business critical issue, this event will be practical in nature, focusing on which areas to consider when developing a D&I strategy and progressing it to a plan of action with metrics. It will also cover articulating the business case for D&I, as well as how to engage the Board and c-suite executives.
Building on insights from our recently published Diversity and Inclusion 2020 Report in partnership with Insurance Ireland, this workshop is aimed at HR leaders and other leaders with responsibility for D&I in their organisations. The event will also feature interactive breakout sessions allowing attendees to discuss challenges and solutions with their peers across the insurance industry.

Biographical details
Valarie Daunt is the Human Capital Lead in Deloitte Consulting. She has spent over 16 years delivering human capital solutions to clients across multiple sectors both as a practitioner in the role of HRD with an international bank and as a Consultant. She has responsibility for the provision of advisory services to a broad range of the firm’s national and international clients and specialises in advising private, public and financial service companies on all aspects of Human Capital.
Melissa Scully is a Director in our Risk Advisory practice and leads our Deloitte Ireland Centre for Corporate Governance. Melissa specialises in Board effectiveness and corporate governance across all industries and brings insight into the challenges facing Boards and Directors. Her clients range from public sector organisations and financial services institutions to FTSE 100 companies. She has delivered over 75 Board effectiveness and governance engagements across Ireland and Europe.
