In the Autumn the Government is expected to announce a road-map for implementing a universal pension in Ireland. In anticipation of this announcement Insurance Ireland will host First Steps to a Universal Pension in September.
This event follows our stakeholder engagement event A Universal Pension for Ireland, held in Dublin Castle on February 11th last, and aims to bring stakeholders up to speed with our position on the OECD 2013 proposal for a universal pension and discuss both the policy and logistical concerns around implementing a universal pension. Confirmed speakers include Peter Neilson, CEO, Financial Services Council of New Zealand and Tim Jones, CEO, of the UK’s NEST (National Employment Savings Trust). This event will be attended by Tanaiste and Minister for Social Protection, Joan Bruton, T.D.
