Insurance Ireland is delighted to collaborate with Muzinich & Co on a new Chief Investment Officer (CIO) webinar series, discussing key topics faced by industry investment leaders.The first Chief Investment Officer (CIO) webinar of 2025 is taking place on MS Teams on Tuesday, 15 April 2025.

In this discussion, we are delighted to be joined by Matteo Fornasier, CIO, BBPM Life alongside Erick Muller, Muzinich’s Co-Chair of the Asset Allocation Group. The webinar will include a panel and Q&A facilitated by Moyagh Murdock, CEO, Insurance Ireland.

During the hour, the discussion will cover key topics faced by insurers across Europe:

• Exploration of US tariff policy and how this is impacting financial market scenarios for 2025.
• A new era for European rates – implications for monetary policy and bond yields, as a result of recent policy announcements.
• Major themes in fixed income market allocations going forward including the role of alternatives.

Speakers

Moyagh Murdock, CEO, Insurance Ireland

Moyagh Murdock is the Chief Executive Officer of Insurance Ireland. Previously she was the CEO of the Road Safety Authority, as position she has held since February 2014. Prior to taking up the CEO role in the RSA, she was Chief Operating Officer for Bus Eireann after having her first joined the company in 2007 as the Deputy Mechanical Engineer with responsibility fo the fleet maintenance and garage operations. Originally from Newry, Co Down, Moyagh graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a B.Eng Mechanical Engineering. She also holds an MBS from Dublin City University and a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Operations Management.

Matteo Fornasier, CIO, BBPM Life dac

Matteo Fornasier joined BBPM Life dac in April 2020 as Chief Investment Officer.  In his role, he is responsible for engineering financial solutions, portfolio construction using quantitative approaches, ad managing shareholders capital across asset classes. Previously Matteo was Associate Director at Grant Thornton and Head of Structured Solutions at ANIMA Asset Management, where he managed over €10bn in UCITS and AIF funds. Matteo holds an MBA from Trinity College and an MSc in Statistics and Business Intelligence from Ca’Forscari University, Venice. He is skilled in various programming languages and financial tools, enabling him to apply data analytics and artificial intelligence techniques in investment management.

Erick Muller, Co-Chair of The Asset Allocation Group (AAG), Muzinich & Co

Erick joined Muzinich in 2015. His responsibilities cover macro and fixed income markets strategy and product management as well as co-chairing the Asset Allocation Group. Erick joined Muzinich from JP Morgan AM, where he spent nearly four years as a Senior Client Portfolio Manager. Prior to that he spent over four years as Head of Fixed Income Product Management at Fidelity Worldwide Investment and before that was Global Head of Capital Market Research at Crédit Agricole CIB for eight years. Erick started his career in finance as a Senior Economist at HSBC and UBS with a particular focus on the eurozone preparation and creation. Erick has an MBA in Finance Marketing from the ESLSCA Business School and a degree in Economics from the Université Panthéon-Assas.
