Insurance Ireland in partnership with A&L Goodbody is delighted to welcome you to our upcoming webinar. The session will focus on Outsourcing & ESG.
Outsourcing (and servicing) is a key component of most business models in the (re)insurance sector. Through an ESG lens, it also presents opportunities (and challenges). This session by A&L Goodbody will cover key tips and issues to watch out for when putting in place and/or updating outsourcing/servicing arrangements with ESG in mind. Among other matters, the session will provide insights on contractual projections, recent/pipeline developments impacting this space and knock on / collateral implications for the sector.

Sinead Lynch, Partner, A&L Goodbody
Sinead Lynch is a partner in A&L Goodbody’s Corporate practice, specialising in Insurance and Reinsurance. Her experience covers all aspects of reinsurance law and regulation. This includes the establishment/authorisation of (re)insurers and intermediaries, cross border activity and the full spectrum of insuranceadvisory and transactional matters. Sinead has advised on a significant number of domestic and cross border portfolio(and wider business) transfers; in addtion to acquisitions/disposals/mergers/restructurings/ changes-in-control and other MA projects involving insurance sector entities (by private equity, insurance sector and other acquirers/disposers). Her experience spans a wide range of advisory issues including regulatory substance; outsourcing/distribution/servicing models and arrangements; technology-driven, platform and innovative developments; reinsurance; Solvency II issues (including capital, governance and remuneration); minimum competency; fitness and probity; and many other prudential, conduct of business and compliance issues. Sinéad has also advised on administrative sanctions, enforcement, (potentially) contentious issues and crisis management. A member of ALG’s ESG & Sustainability Steering Group, Sinéad advises clients on ESG and sustainability topics. Sinéad was named in the global list ‘IFLR1000 Women Leaders’ 2022 and 2023. She has lectured on insurance law and regulation in the Law Society of Ireland. Sinéad regularly publishes and presents on topical insurance sector issues.
Jill Shaw, ESG & Sustainability Lead, A&L Goodbody
As ESG & Sustainability Lead, Jill supports A&L Goodbody’s clients and practice groups on ESG and sustainability matters. She has a particular focus on sustainability reporting and disclosure requirements. Jill has extensive experience advising clients on legal and regulatory matters, principally in the asset management and investment funds sector. In addition, she has worked as a senior knowledge lawyer with a focus on compliance with the various European sustainability initiatives applicable to the asset management sector. Jill is a lecturer on the Law Society of Ireland’s Diploma in Finance Law, including on sustainable finance. She is also co-lead of the Content Development, Education and Knowledge working group of the Green Team Network which is a forum that supports member firms’ efforts to close the gap between intent, action and impact on sustainability. Jill has been recognised as a Green Ambassador within Legal 500s 2024 Green Guide.
