On Thursday, 17 July the third annual Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter was launched by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Minister of State for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance Robert Troy.
Insurance Ireland has been a key stakeholder and funding partner for the Charter, so we were honoured to be joined by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Minister of State Robert Troy, Fiona Gallagher (Chair of Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter), and Dr. Helen Russell of the ESRI to launch the third annual report of Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter.
The progress in the sector highlighted by the report is clear:
- Female representation in senior management has risen to 43.4%
- Board-level representation is now 36.3%
- CEO-level representation has grown to 22.6%
Now with 104 signatory firms representing more than 72,000 employees, the Charter is driving real change. Insurance Ireland is particularly proud that in the most recent report, the (re)insurance sector remains the sector with the highest number of signatories. While challenges remain, the commitment from industry and government is strong—and growing.
