In 2014, II held the first President’s Conference titled Customer 360. The conference title reflected the interactive nature of the event which saw industry and consumer representatives engage in positive and productive discourse. The Conference attracted an attendance of 260 delegates which included directors and senior executives from across life, general, international, and health insurance sectors as well as consumer representatives, the regulator, and experts on the new era of the digital consumer. 

At the II AGM earlier this month, Ciaran McGettrick, Managing Director, Phoenix Ireland was appointed President of II for a one-year term. He succeeded Sean Casey of New Ireland, who worked with the II team in developing last year’s Inaugural President’s Conference.

On appointment Ciaran said “I am honoured to be appointed President of II and look forward to working closely with Ireland’s Insurance companies across Life, General, Health and International. Helping to progressing with the support of the team in Insurance House II’s mandate on behalf of its members”.

As part of this mandate we will work closely with Ciaran in the coming weeks and months to design and deliver this flagship event, the highlight of the industry calendar in Ireland. In constructing a theme for this year’s conference we will seek to build on the consumer piece which we explored in our 360 Conference and bridge the journey to our hosting of the Insurance Europe (“IE”) General Assembly and Conference in 2016. The IE Conference is the largest European flagship conference for the Insurance Industry with an anticipated attendance of c800 delegates from around the globe descending on Dublin in May 2016.
