On Friday, 25th November, Insurance Ireland submitted a detailed response on General Scheme of Automatic Enrolment Bill to Joint Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands.
The comprehensive submission covered a number of topics including:
- Barriers to Entry for Low Income, Part time and Young Workers,
- The Gender Pension Gap,
- Issues with Contributions,
- The 2018 Strawman and the Central Processing Agency, and
- Communications.
As well as the above, Insurance Ireland gave specific feedback on the parts and heads within the General Scheme.
In our submission, Insurance Ireland noted that it would be grateful for the opportunity to appear before the Joint Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands at an oral hearing during the Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of the General Scheme.
