Insurance Ireland – Pinsent Masons: EIOPA Guidelines on outsourcing to cloud service providers

The EIOPA Guidelines on outsourcing to cloud service providers will apply from 1 January 2021. From that date, insurers and reinsurers will need to comply with the Guidelines applicable to internal policies and processes, as well as those Guidelines that apply to contracting with cloud providers.
In this session, we will look at the overall compliance regime for insurance and reinsurance outsourcing, consider the main contracting requirements in the Guidelines and draw on our experience with similar guidelines to identify some practical challenges that they are likely to present for insurers, reinsurers and suppliers, and how those might be addressed.
