Overview
Insurance Ireland and Milliman look forward to welcoming you to our first CRO forum of 2022. We are pleased to announce that Tim O’ Hanrahan of the Central Bank of Ireland will join us on the 5th of April to give us some insight into the Central Bank of Ireland’s regulatory agenda for the coming year.
In addition, Ben Carr of Aviva will present on the International CRO Forum Paper on – Integrating Sustainability into insurance risk management.
Finally, there will be a panel discussion on climate risk featuring Tim, Ben and Francis Coll from New Ireland Assurance.

Speakers:
Tim O’Hanrahan, Head of Insurance Supervision Division, Central Bank of Ireland
Tim has worked in the Central Bank for over 18 years primarily in Insurance supervision and also in the Banking division, Internal Audit and as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Governor (Prudential Regulation). He currently is the Central Bank nominee on the Pensions Council and the Supervisory Steering Committee of EIOPA.
Ben Carr, Analytics and Capital Modelling Director, Aviva
Ben Carr leads the multi-disciplinary project team at Aviva working on the development of scenario analysis to support the development of disclosures consistent with the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate Related Financial Disclosures.
He is also a member of the joint PRA-FCA Climate Financial Risk Forum Scenario Analysis Working Group.
Ben works in the Group Actuarial Function at Aviva, where he is responsible for the maintenance and development of their approved group-wide Solvency II internal economic capital model.
He joined Aviva from the Prudential Regulation Authority at the Bank of England in 2011, where he led the UK Internal Model Approval Process (IMAP) in preparation for the implementation of Solvency II.
Francis Coll, Chief Risk Officer, New Ireland Assurance
Francis has been the CRO of New Ireland since 2015. Before joining New Ireland, he held a number of senior positions in Irish Life across actuarial, risk and compliance roles. Francis is a member of the Society of Actuaries ERM Committee, and the Insurance Ireland Inclusion Taskforce. Francis is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland, and holds a BA from Trinity College Dublin and MBA from Dublin City University.
