The Briefing will focus on the European Commission’s proposals to reform the European Supervisory Authorities, which includes EIOPA. These proposals envisage increasing the number of powers that EIOPA will have, in order to ensure that consumers of insurance products are subject to the same level of protection regardless of where in the EU they are. The Briefing will also provide an overview of current supervisory focus, at home and abroad, on (re)insurers conduct, behavior and culture and the risks these pose to consumers.
