Florian Wimber, Director Advocacy & Public Affairs, Solvency II Lead, Insurance Ireland
Florian is the Director of Advocacy & Public Affairs and Solvency II Lead of the representative body of the Irish insurance association, Insurance Ireland. He joined the organisation in 2018 as Head of European Affairs and International Insurance and established the association’s representation in Brussels, Belgium.
Prior to his assignment with Insurance Ireland, Florian was Advisor to the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia where he was working on the establishment of social protection and the regulation of the insurance market.
From 2010-2016 Florian was with the German Insurance Association (Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V., GDV) where he held different positions in Brussels and Berlin. The focus of his engagement has been insurance prudential regulation and financial supervision in the European Union. Florian is a German national and holds a degree in economics from University of Cologne and Trinity College Dublin.
John Sexton, FSI Director, Kainos Ireland
John has been helping financial organisations deliver innovative technology solutions for the past 30 years. He is driven to help Insurers grow their business through clever use of technology that delivers measurable outcomes.
Stephen Walker, Programme Manager and ex Head of Enterprise Fraud Technology in Insurance, Kainos Ireland
Stephen Walker is an expert in fraud and risk technology, helping some of the world’s biggest financial institutions to implement solutions to better manage their risk. This included leading enterprise fraud technology and analytics for a large US insurer.
Stephen has also helped several public sector clients to transform their digital services and offerings, including counter-fraud solutions with the DVSA and the UK Home Office.
John O’Doherty, Enterprise Commercial Director, Microsoft Ireland
As Enterprise Commercial Director, John is responsible for Microsoft enterprise commercial business across the island of Ireland.
He has 25 years’ experience in the communications and hi-tech industries in Ireland and across Western Europe, working in the electronics, management consulting and software development, focused on helping customers digitally transform their businesses empower their employees and engage their customers to optimise operations and transform their products and services.
John is a B Comm. graduate of University College Cork and has a post-graduate diploma from the Irish Law Society.
