Overview

With diversity and inclusion (D&I) becoming an increasingly business-critical issue, this event will focus on the role of D&I in insurance and its contribution to wider organisational goals, some key D&I considerations for senior executives, as well as how to progress the D&I agenda within an organisation. We will hear from Matt Elliott, Chief People Officer, Bank of Ireland who will talk about his D&I journey to date and what steps he has taken to transform the culture of the bank. 

Building on insights from our recently published Diversity and Inclusion 2020 Report in partnership with Deloitte, this webinar will also feature a panel discussion with Q&A to discuss key opportunities and challenges in progressing the D&I agenda in insurance organisations.

Biographical details

 

Rose-Marie Kennedy, Director – Risk Advisory and Regulatory Risk, Deloitte. She specialises in Irish and European financial services regulation. She advises a wide range of both domestic and international financial institutions. She specialises in the provision of advice and support to clients on all aspects of Irish and UK authorisation/licence applications, applications for Pre-Approval Controlled Functions (“PCF”), ongoing conduct and prudential regulatory compliance support and implementation of legislation and regulatory requirements. Rose-Marie provides support and guidance to clients on regulatory enforcement actions taken by the Central Bank of Ireland, industry investigations and other risk mitigation programme (“RMP”) enquiries.

 

Matt Elliott, Chief People Officer, Bank of Ireland. Matt Elliott was appointed to the role of Chief People Officer at Bank of Ireland in February 2019. He is responsible for transforming the culture of the Bank and developing a company where colleagues thrive. Prior to that he was Group People Director with Virgin Money. Under Matt’s leadership Virgin Money successfully acquired and integrated Northern Rock.  Matt was part of the executive team who successfully listed the company on the London Stock Exchange, and created a company widely acknowledged to be a cultural leader in the UK.

 

Lisa O’Mahony, Head of the Advisory & Inspections Function for governance, operational and insurance risks, The Central Bank of Ireland. Lisa and her team are responsible for the inspection of Governance and Risk Management Frameworks across firms in the banking, insurance and asset management industries; as well as claims and underwriting inspections in insurance firms. Lisa is a Chartered Accountant by profession, with over 15 years’ experience in Financial Services.  Following a number of years in audit and finance roles in industry, she joined the Central Bank in 2012.
