The Irish insurance association, Insurance Ireland, is pleased to invite you to discuss the theme of Sustainable Finance – from politics to practice.
The European Commission’s proposals on sustainable finance mark a milestone of the European initiative towards environmental, social and governance responsible investments. The ambitious timeline, continued uncertainty and the compatibility of existing projects with the EU initiative are only some of the challenges facing the initiative.
Member States and private entities are making great efforts to develop frameworks for sustainable and responsible investments in their jurisdictions. The range of projects currently under way is wide and the approaches taken are diverse. Learning from each other and developing best practices will be one of the key factors for a sustainable success at EU level. The insurance industry can play an important role in creating a sustainable future for Europe. Besides its ability to invest, insurers cover risks related to projects enhancing Europe’s sustainability.
A photographer will be present at this event. Photos will be posted to our website and used in our marketing and communications collateral. If you do not wish to be included please mention to the photographer and/or contact the event organiser in advance.
