Insurance Ireland – AXA IM Investment Forum 2 2021

Date: Wednesday, 29th September 2021

Time: 11.00 – 12.00 pm

Place: Virtual

Overview

Insurance Ireland and AXA Investment Managers look forward to welcoming you to our next Investment Forum, which takes place on Wednesday 29th September at 11.00am. We are delighted to announce that we will be joined by Chris Iggo, Chief Investment Officer, AXA IM Core Investment to discuss climate change, market developments and the implications for bond markets. Chris will highlight the opportunities afforded investors on the pathway to net zero and how investing to address material emerging risks now can help build resilient, sustainable fixed income portfolios.

Climate change poses a risk to future economic growth. It also poses the threat of frequent and potentially damaging shocks to output. This could be contributing to the continued negative level of real interest rates which are already reflecting declining growth potential and demographic trends. Stepping up efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change could improve future growth expectations and reduce risks, helping real yields to rise again. But for the time being, negative real yields are here to stay.
