About the industry in Dublin
For more than a quarter of a century, this industry in Ireland has been providing people around the world with security should they be struck by adverse events. Whether it be the impact of high profile natural catastrophes such as hurricanes and earthquakes, man-made disasters such as environmental reparation after oil spills, or personal claims across Europe, re/insurance companies in Ireland have been providing individuals and businesses with the ability to recover from calamity.
Dublin has developed into one of the few truly international re/insurance centres by becoming a home to both generalists and specialists: this diversity of business gives Dublin its unique flavour as an international centre for risk business.
Insurance Ireland and the Dublin International Insurance & Management Association (DIMA) merged in January 2017, bringing together the domestic and international insurance and reinsurance sectors.
The merged organisation represents over 140 insurers, reinsurers and captives in a major industry that employs approximately 28,000 people and provides vital services for economic activity both in Ireland and internationally.

Both organisations have been keenly promoting Ireland as an international hub for insurance and reinsurance and these efforts will be a priority for the merged organisation.
About the European Insurance Forum (EIF)
EIF is an annual event, which has been running since 1999 and is a premier European conference in the re/insurance calendar with speakers representing global leaders in the sector. We will have attendees at C-suite level and senior decision makers from the Irish and international re/insurance and captive industry. It is a signature re/insurance event in the Irish calendar.
The conference theme is Change the Game – reflecting an industry in a constant state of change as it responds to Brexit, (and now the impact of the Trump presidency) and other big trends that are revolutionising the traditional landscape of the industry.
We have had many of the world’s senior global industry figures and policy makers participate at EIF: it is the place to meet, network and do business with peers and clients. Executives will connect and engage with a national and international audience of peers, thought leaders and solution providers as they discuss some of the key challenges the industry faces and opportunities springing up in new quarters. The conference will reflect on many of these powerful trends and how they will transform companies and shape society.

It takes place on the 25th of May at Croke Park conference centre.
