It also contains details of the Insurance Information Service (IIS) which Insurance Ireland operates to assist the public with any queries or complaints they may have.

If you have a general enquiry about an insurance matter, please provide a short summary of the issue. We can provide feedback or advice re next steps. Please do not include any personal information, except the insurance company name and policy number. It maybe required to follow up directly with the insurance provider for clarification or some assistance to help resolve your query.

Complaints by email

If you have a complaint about your insurance company (not a broker) please provide a summary of the problem and include the company name and policy number. Please do not include any personal information, except the insurance company name and policy number. Any additional information required, will be communicated by email. We may also approach your insurance company to review your complaint, which means the exchange of detail from your original email. The insurance company will be instructed to reply directly to the consumer with their outlined position.

Insurance Ireland and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner have agreed on the Code of Practice on Data Protection for the Insurance Sector which sets out the industy’s obligations to treat personal information fairly and in accordance with data protection legislation.
