Insurance Ireland – William Fry Outsourcing Event H2 2023

Overview

With the second annual Outsourcing Register submission due in Q4 2023, as well as the introduction of a new Prescribed Responsibility for Outsourcing oversight as part of the incoming Senior Executives Accountability Regime (SEAR) in July 2024, Insurance Ireland is delighted to partner with experts from William Fry and the Central Bank of Ireland to host an in-person event on Outsourcing Compliance at William Fry offices at 12 – 1 pm on Thursday 21 September. Arrival at 11.30 am for refreshments.

Niall Campbell, Consultant, Insurance & Reinsurance will take us through some of William Fry’s experiences of advising and supporting firms in appropriate outsourcing oversight and governance structures as well as some considerations on the Central Bank’s Outsourcing Guidance from 2021. John O’Connor, Co-Head of Fintech will then provide some practical insights on how to approach contractual arrangements with outsourced service providers including dealing with cloud services and uplifting existing outsourcing agreements.

Tom Keating, Senior Advisor – Head of Operational Risk Policy at Central Bank of Ireland and Bobby MacCarthy, Senior Policy Specialist at Central Bank of Ireland will then join John and Niall for a panel discussion to talk through the Central Bank’s expectations of firms regarding outsourcing compliance and potential feedback and learnings from the 2022 Outsourcing Register submission.
