Overview
The Insurance Ireland Gender Pension Gap Working Group will present its paper ‘Mitigating the Gender Pension Gap in Ireland’ during this webinar. The paper aims to restart the debate about the Gender Pension Gap and contains considerations for public policy, for pension providers and for consumers / consumer groups in the use of private pension provision to reduce instances of poverty in retirement for women. Heather Humphreys TD, Minister for Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands
Heather Humphreys TD is the Minister for Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands. She was appointed to this role in June 2020.
Heather previously worked with Ulster Bank and prior to her election to Dáil Éireann, she was Manager of Cootehill Credit Union.
As Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather led the successful 2016 Centenary Programme and during her time as Minister with responsibility for rural affairs, she launched the Action Plan for Rural Development.
Prior to being appointed to Cabinet, Heather served as a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform.
Kristen Foran, National Sales Director, Zurich Life
Kristen joined Zurich in 1998 working in various roles before taking up her role as National Sales Director in January 2013. Kristen holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, is a Certified Financial Planner and has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Leading Cultural Change and Ethical behaviours in Financial Services with the Institute of Banking. Kristen is a member of the LIA Dublin committee and the Connect Women in Pensions group and chairs Zurich’s Women’s Innovation Network.
John Gethin, Branch Manager, KBC Life & Pensions
With over 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector John has held a number of senior roles with leading industry players. Having set up KBC Life and Pensions, John currently heads Ireland’s first digital life insurer. Challenging industry norms, John and his team have built a full end to end digital pension proposition that is completely unique in the Irish market. Informed by behavioural economic principles and deep consumer research the multi-award winning ‘Thumb Powered Pensions’ puts the pension saver in control and supports their retirement journey with a seamless user experience.
Teresa Kelly Oroz, Group Company Secretary and Head of Public Policy, Irish Life Group
Teresa is the Group Company Secretary for all the Irish Life and Canada Life companies in Ireland and also acts as the Head of Public Policy for Irish Life Group. Prior to joining Irish Life, Teresa was part of the management teams which started both Vivas Health and Glohealth in the Irish market. Teresa was an active member on the creation of the Insurance Ireland Diversity and Inclusion Task Force of which she is now Chair. Teresa graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Law and European Studies, following which she gained a Masters in European Union law from the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid and then qualified as a barrister in the King’s Inns in Dublin.
Anne Kelleher, Director Reward Services, Deloitte Ireland
Anne is a Director, Head of Reward Services in the Global Employee Services team in Deloitte Ireland LLP. She has over 20 years of combined Human Resource business strategy, total reward consulting and corporate experience. To support companies, optimise on their talent agenda, she advises on executive and employee remuneration trends, pay and incentive plan structure and design, Gender Pay Gap reporting, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies, pay regulation and governance. Anne has worked across a broad range of sectors including technology, financial services, healthcare and consumer.
