Insurance Ireland is delighted to collaborate with Muzinich & Co on a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) webinar series, discussing key topics faced by industry investment leaders. The next Chief Investment Officer (CIO) webinar is taking place on MS Teams on Thursday, 15 January 2026.

This session will provide a strategic market outlook for 2026, we are delighted to be joined by Frank Cunneen, Head of Investments, IPB Insurance alongside Erick Muller, Muzinich’s Co-Chair of the Asset Allocation Group, who will share a macroeconomic perspective and insights into global market trends for the year ahead. The webinar will include a Q&A facilitated by Moyagh Murdock, CEO, Insurance Ireland.

This will be a fascinating insight into how peers are navigating investment markets, through a live discussion. We hope you can join us.

Speakers

Moyagh Murdock
CEO, Insurance Ireland

Moyagh Murdock  is the Chief Executive Officer of Insurance Ireland. Previously she was the CEO of the Road Safety Authority, a position she has held since February 2014. Prior to taking up the CEO role in the RSA, she was Chief Operating Officer for Bus Éireann after having first joined the company in 2007 as the Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer with responsibility for the fleet maintenance and garage operations. Originally from Newry, Co. Down, Moyagh graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering. She also holds an MBA from Dublin City University and a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Operations Management.

Matteo Fornasier
Chief Investment Officer, BBPM Life   

Matteo Fornasier joined BBPM Life dac in April 2020 as Chief Investment Officer. In his role, he is responsible for engineering financial solutions, portfolio construction using quantitative approaches, and managing shareholder capital across asset classes. Previously, Matteo was Associate Director at Grant Thornton and Head of Structured Solutions at ANIMA Asset Management, where he managed over €10bn in UCITS and AIF funds. Matteo holds an MBA from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in Statistics and Business Intelligence from Ca’ Foscari University, Venice. He is skilled in various programming languages and financial tools, enabling him to apply data analytics and artificial intelligence techniques in investment management.

Frank Cunneen
Head of Investments, IPB Insurance

Frank Cunneen is Head of Investments at IPB Insurance.  He heads a team of three investment professionals and is responsible for all aspects of managing the investment assets of IPB. Prior to his appointment as Head of Investments in May 2082, Frank was Portfolio Manager within the investment team at IPB Insurance for the previous 10 years.  All investor decisions are made in house and are governed by investment parameters as set by the Board of Directors through the approved investment Policy.

Prior to joining IPB Insurance, Frank held roles of equity trader and credit analyst at Davy and Bank of Ireland respectively. Frank holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin (UCD) and a Masters in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit School of Business.

Erick Muller, MBA
Co-Chair of The Asset Allocation Group (AAG), Muzinich & Co

Erick’s responsibilities cover macro and fixed income markets strategy as well as co-chairing the Asset Allocation Group. In these functions, he leads the investment team markets analysis and elaborates investment solutions for external clients. Erick joined Muzinich from JP Morgan AM, prior to that Fidelity Worldwide Investment and before that, spent 20 years in investment banks markets research functions. Erick has an MBA in Finance Marketing from the ESLSCA Business School and a degree in Economics from the Université Panthéon-Assas.
