We are delighted to announce that Fred Vosvenieks – is going to address the CRO Forum on the Senior Managers’ Regime UK
Fred Vosvenieks is a Principal with the Milliman London office and is currently Chief Risk Officer at Zurich Life Assurance. He has worked on a number of independent expert and expert witness engagements and has significant risk management expertise, having supported clients on a wide range of risk management projects.
The Senior Managers’ Regime was introduced in the UK in 2016 and was extended in full to insurers in 2018. It was introduced in order to support a change in culture at all levels in the banking and insurance industries, with the aim of enhancing governance through reinforcement of individual accountability. The regime shifts the responsibility of activities within a firm onto senior managers and non-executive Directors, with a responsibility map clearly identifying which individual is responsible for which activity.
The Central Bank of Ireland has proposed a similar regime here, namely the “Senior Executive Accountability Regime”, with each “Senior Executive Function” having a documented “Statement of Responsibilities” clearly setting out roles and responsibilities.
The CRO Forum is designed to be a high-level discussion group exclusively formed and attended by Chief Risk Officers of Insurance Ireland Member and Associate Member companies. The purpose of the series is to engender debate and discussion, facilitating peer learning, network building and the sharing of experience and knowledge in this community.
