European Insurance Forum 2018 (EIF2018)

October 24, 2018 @ 12:00 am

EIF will be the flagship event of the Insurance Ireland annual calendar with a target of 400 delegates for 2018.

It will be aimed at senior industry executives, c-suite and senior decision makers and stakeholders from across all our industry sectors.

It will be the industry’s Flagship International Conference representing the totality of all of our sectors & our jurisdiction.

It will incorporate Insurance Ireland’s previous Annual President’s Conference and include a President’s Gala Dinner.

We are hosting it at Trinity College Dublin, a first for EIF.

It’s a Unique Venue with 6 Experiences & Space. We will:

• Occupy the Edmund Burke Theatre for the main event

• Own the Arts Block open space for networking

• Take over the Douglas Hyde Gallery for exclusive meet ups

• Experience a post event private Tour of the Book of Kells, the Old Library

• Enjoy a post conference cocktail reception

• Host Insurance Ireland’s President’s Gala Dinner in the Dining Hall

The programme content will be informed by our strong EIF2018 Advisory Committee, drawn from all segments of our membership.

About the conference theme:

Ours is a global business and one that is defined by managing risk. Industry and business strategy is driven by a deep understanding of the issues and risks we face, and the ever changing environment in which we operate.

The EIF2018 theme is “Crafting an Industry for a Modern Vision” and is inspired in part by the setting for EIF2018, Trinity College Dublin.  The conference will challenge our traditions  on the one hand and our bravery on the other, to inspire our industry to be outward focused and relevant for a modern vision in our ever changing consumer and risk landscape.

We will therefore examine old issues and new challenges: regulatory harmony versus regulatory arbitrage, “re-fragmentation versus globalisation”, taxation, consolidation and new technologies versus legacy systems.

Given Ireland’s place as an international hub for re/insurance, EIF is at the centre of conversations on the direction of regulation, the embrace of InsurTech and how re/insurance can stay agile in an ever-changing world. We have had many of the world’s senior global industry figures and policy makers participate in EIF over the years. We will have more at EIF2018.
