Insurance Ireland welcomes market test of Commitments offered to the European Commission

Insurance Ireland welcomes the European Commission’s decision to market test the Commitments offered by Insurance Ireland to address the preliminary findings raised by the European Commission in its Statement of Objections issued on 18th June 2021 in respect of its ongoing investigation into InsuranceLink, an anti-fraud tool.

While Insurance Ireland does not agree with the preliminary findings, it has pro-actively engaged with the European Commission with a view to allaying the perceived concerns set out in the Statement of Objections and has offered a comprehensive set of commitments in that regard. 

Insurance Ireland has been strongly committed to cooperating with the investigation of the European Commission and will continue to do so during the next phase of the process.
