The topic agenda for the September Forum is as follows:

Structuring the Risk Management Function – facilitated peer debate

Solvency II places the Risk Management Function at the centre of the company but in many cases the Risk Management Function has only been established a number of years. Therefore, many functions are evolving and changing as Solvency II approaches and as practice emerges.This first agenda item is in relation to the structure of the Risk Management Function and how it interacts with both group and other functions.

 

The CRO at the Top Table – Fergus Barry

The CRO role presents new opportunities and challenges at senior team level requiring the CRO to influence with impact. We will explore the obstacles the CRO faces, the dynamics of C Teams, the role of the functional leader and the influencing styles and strategies that work in the strategic context and complex situations. This practical and focused interactive session will be delivered by Fergus Barry. Fergus’s core areas of expertise are Strategy, Leading Change, Executive development, IR/ER Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, Performance Management, Strategic HRM. Fergus has worked extensively with senior functional leaders ( focusing on the positioning of the chief function officers and defining their key roles and responsibilities (including HR/Quality/Finance etc) to help them position themselves to add real value at the C Team Level.
