Noel Freeley, Chief Executive Officer, Royal London Ireland announced as the new President of Insurance Ireland


Noel Freeley, Chief Executive Officer, Royal London Ireland is the new President of Insurance Ireland. He succeeds Stephen Devine, Senior Strategic Advisor, Life & Health, SCOR who was previously the CEO of SCOR Global Reinsurance Ireland from March 2019 to November 2024.

Each year a President is appointed at the Insurance Ireland AGM and the Presidency alternates between life, general, international, and reinsurance & captive member companies. This year is our 39th year of Insurance Ireland in operation and look forward to reaching our 40th year in 2026.

Noel Freeley, speaking on his appointment as President of Insurance Ireland said, “I’m honoured to take on the role as President of Insurance Ireland and look forward to working with Moyagh and the wider teams As a long-time member and chair of the Life  Council, I am committed to advancing Insurance Ireland’s new 5-year strategy, launched this year. My ambition during my term as President is to help make this vision and mission a reality. 

 

Stephen Devine, speaking on his tenure as President of Insurance Ireland said, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Noel on his appointment as Insurance Ireland President for 2025. My time as Insurance Ireland President coincided with a changing political landscape both locally and internationally, post-pandemic era, new regulations, and talent shortage. It has been a pleasure to work with Moyagh Murdock and the Insurance Ireland board, Management team and members over the past two years. I know that the work of Insurance Ireland and the new 5-year strategy will go from ‘neart go neart’ with the guidance of Noel Freeley”.

Noel Freeley, Chief Executive Officer, Royal London Insurance DAC and President, Insurance Ireland

Noel Freeley is responsible for devising and executing Royal London’s strategy for the Ireland business and is a member of their Group Executive Committee. . Prior to this, he was Royal London Group’s Legacy Division Director and a CEO and board member for several Royal London subsidiary companies in the UK. Before joining Royal London, he headed the pensions and protection business at Co-operative Insurance and previously performed roles for Friends Provident in the UK and Asia.
