Manager, Regulation & Policy Development


The RPD Manager will take ownership of and lead on the analysis of prudential & cross-border regulatory initiatives at domestic and European level and identify potential opportunities and challenges for the Irish insurance market.

Responsibilities include:

• Engage with II members, stakeholders and government officials in the development of policy, using data, research and analytical skills to develop credible solutions to real problems.

• Facilitate, contribute to and present at II committees and workshops, to explore problems, develop solutions and build consensus across the membership

• Represent Insurance Ireland in Insurance Europe working groups.

•Engage in Insurance Ireland’s advocacy processes and technical discussions with EU institutions, governments, supervisors and other stakeholders.

•Provide technical input at a domestic and international level into the development of Insurance Ireland’s advocacy and media in the area of prudential and cross-border regulation.

•Draft position statements, responses to consultations and communications to members.

Qualifications & Experience:

•Professional level of education or equivalent practical experience

•Minimum of 3 years’ experience of leading and analysing complex public policy issues and/strong project management experience.

•Enthusiasm for building and managing effective and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels across a range of organisations.

•Interest in understanding policy issues in financial services and insurance.

•Very good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify key issues and synthesise feedback.

• Great project management skills and ability to organise and plan to tight deadlines.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to work flexibly in a small, close knit, multi-tasking team; working with colleagues and on own initiative with minimal supervision

• Proactive, organised and self-motivated to manage a wide-ranging workload, tracking progress and meeting agreed & sometimes competing deadlines.

•Excellent interpersonal, communication & networking skills with the ability to communicate & collaborate with people & stakeholders at all levels.
